During King Charles’ Coronation, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be permitted to join the rest of the Royal Family on the balcony.
The ceremony is scheduled for May 6, but the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have yet to confirm their attendance despite being officially invited.
According to the Mirror, “the King has been very clear about who he wants to represent the monarchy.”
“There is little room for sentiment; this is a State occasion, not a family occasion, and it is appropriate that only the working members of the family attend the major public event.
“The balcony moment will be the King’s final presentation of a slimmed-down monarchy, which will be even slimmer than before.The Gloucesters, the Duke of Kent, and Princess Alexandra will be slimmed down even more once they retire from public life.
“It’s a farewell to them and a nod to their support of his mother during her 70-year reign.”
