bruins’-win-streak-will-be-broken-by-the-hurricanes

Throughout the entire NHL season, I have been screaming from the rooftops that the Carolina Hurricanes, not the Boston Bruins, are the league’s top team. Therefore, if I’m going to stick by that opinion, I’d be a coward if I didn’t wager on Carolina in their important game today.

Most advanced analytics, such as CORSI%, FENWICK%, expected goals against, and high-danger scoring chances, have the Hurricanes leading the NHL.

It also helps that Jeremy Swayman, the Bruins’ backup goaltender, will probably start today. Although he’s done well this year, he isn’t Linus Ullmark.

Carolina is a slight home favorite that I’ll support.

Even though the Maple Leafs suffered a difficult defeat on Saturday, there are encouraging signs going into their matchup with the Predators on Sunday. In particular, Auston Matthews, who has eight points in his last five games, appears to be finding his form just in time.

In their last 10 games, the Predators have struggled, placing 31st in the NHL in expected goals percentage. The Leafs are in the ideal position to take advantage of their rival and win.
