Tuesday night prop night anyone?

The NBA best bets column keeps chugging along with a few more wins on Monday night, and I have my eye on a couple of guards to have big games on Tuesday, with just eight NBA teams in action.

But first, can we talk about the winners from yesterday?

In this community, we appreciate Julius Randle for his work on the glass, because he helped us cash big time on a rebounding prop ladder in yesterday’s picks:

Tonight’s a prop night, including a first quarter spread play that I have in the Denver Nuggets’ matchup with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Let’s keep the wins coming:

NBA best bets record to date

  • NBA best bets record for 2022-23 season: 135-109-1 (+11.9584 units)

NBA best bets today

  • Denver Nuggets 1Q Spread -2 (-110) vs. Portland Trail Blazers
  • James Harden OVER 26.5 Points and Rebounds (-120)
  • Kyrie Irving OVER 5.5 Assists (-115)

Denver Nuggets 1Q Spread -2 (-110) vs. Portland Trail Blazers

I don’t mind taking Denver to cover for the whole game, but I really see an advantage in the first quarter, where the Nuggets have the best net rating in the NBA at +16.3.

Ball Arena has been very friendly to the Nuggets, as they’ve gone 19-3 straight up at home this season, playing a top-10 defense in their home arena as well.

The Blazers have struggled in first quarters this season, ranking 19th in the NBA in net rating at -2.1.

This is a tough road environment against one of the hottest teams in the NBA. I like Denver to get things going early.

James Harden OVER 26.5 Points and Rebounds (-120)

This is my favorite play of the night, as James Harden has been putting up big numbers as of late for the Philadelphia 76ers.

Harden is averaging 23.3 points and 6.7 rebounds per game over his last 12 contests, and he’s cleared this line in eight of his last 10 games.

This prop had been set at 28.5 last week on multiple occasions, so we’re getting some value at DraftKings all the way down at 26.5.

While Los Angeles ranks fifth in defensive rating on the season, the team is actually 21st in the league over its last 10 games. Harden has a solid floor, scoring 20-plus points in 10 of his last 12, so I love him to go OVER this number on Tuesday.

Kyrie Irving OVER 5.5 Assists (-115)

Shout out to my guy Reed Wallach for sharing this in today’s “Best NBA prop bets” on FanSided, because Kyrie Irving has really been thriving as a playmaker.

Irving has gone OVER 5.5 assists in five straight games, and he’s had the ball in his hands even more with Kevin Durant (MCL) out of the lineup.

Reed pointed out that Irving has had double-digit assist opportunities over his last two games, and I think this is a favorable matchup with the San Antonio Spurs, who rank dead last in the NBA in defensive rating and 28th in opponent assists per game.

Kyrie is going to get his scoring the ball, but there’s more value on this number in the prop market.
