You probably woke up this morning expecting to go through the day without thinking about Pope Francis talking about sex, but the Pope is known to be one of the most outspoken, and he leaves no subject untouched.
Pope Francis discusses the benefits of sexual intercourse in a documentary set to be released on Wednesday, claiming it is one of the greatest gifts God has given to humanity.
This is an unusual stance for an 86-year-old in arguably the most pure position in the religious world.
The documentary is part of the Catholic Church’s attempt to modernize, with its head fielding questions from ten young people. The production, titled ‘The Pope Answers,’ will be hosted by Disney+ on their streaming platform.
“Sex is one of the most beautiful gifts that God has given to humanity,” Pope Francis said.
“It is a richness to express yourself sexually.”
“Anything that takes away from genuine sexual expressions diminishes you and depletes this richness.One of the common denominators amongst the world’s religions has been their inability to understood and subsequently welcome the LGBT community.
Initially it was homosexuals who were considered to be a problem, but with now so many strands of sexuality and gender being prominent in 2023, there are questions for religious figures.
Pope Francis, to his credit, didn’t shy away from these topics, even being directly asked if he knew what a non-binary’ person was.
