Toronto has received a winter weather travel alert as the province is expected to receive further snow on Friday.

The Golden Horseshoe and southwestern Ontario will get extensive snow on Friday, according to Environment Canada, which may cause limited visibility during the evening commute.

“Motorists should plan beforehand for potentially dangerous winter driving conditions. Be ready to modify your driving when the road conditions change, the alert advised.According to Environment Canada, snowfall is anticipated to start about noon on Friday and taper off late that night.

The federal weather bureau predicted four to eight centimeters of snow for the city. The storm last weekend that brought up to 30 centimeters of snow is still being cleaned up in Toronto.

In order to aid workers in removing snow from the roads and sidewalks, the city decided to declare a significant snowfall condition.

Friday’s high is expected to be -1 C with a wind chill of about -8. On Saturday, with a high of 1 C, there will be some sun and clouds mixed together.

Cloudy conditions are in the forecast for Sunday with a high of 0 C.
